An innovative student-built tool engineered by JUKTI Executive Raiyan Bin Rais, streamlining IUB course registration with automated prerequisite tracking, conflict detection, routine generation, and offline caching.

Every registration season brings a familiar wave of panic for university students: juggling multiple tabs on IRAS, cross-checking course offers against handwritten notes, manually charting schedule grids, and double-checking prerequisites for time clashes. Looking to turn that chaotic pen-and-paper calculation into a clean, automated workflow, JUKTI's Head of Public Relations, Raiyan Bin Rais designed and developed the IUB Course Planner.
What began as an individual initiative quickly evolved into an indispensable campus tool. Recognizing its community impact, JUKTI - Club of CSE, IUB proudly highlighted the project as a showcase of student-led innovation directly solving everyday university challenges.
The web application introduces a comprehensive feature suite tailored to the IUB academic routine: - Direct Data Fetching: Securely syncs with IRAS accounts to pull live, personalized course offerings. - Smart Filtering & Search: Rapid querying by course code, title, instructor, day slots (ST, MW, AR), seat availability, and student eligibility. - Automated Conflict & Prerequisite Checks: Real-time validation that warns students of overlapping slots or unfulfilled requirements across multiple custom drafting plans. - Interactive Visual Routine Grid: Converts chosen course sections directly into an organized weekly schedule grid, exportable as a high-resolution JPG image for registration day. - PWA & Offline Resilience: Fully responsive across mobile and desktop devices with Progressive Web App (PWA) support, alongside local browser caching that keeps course offers accessible even during sudden IRAS portal outages. - Privacy-First Architecture: Built strictly without ads, telemetry trackers, or credential logging on external servers.
With the release of version 1.2, the project achieved a major milestone by serving over 1.2K active student users in Autumn-2026 pre-registration period alone, reflecting the tangible impact of student software engineering within the university community.
