Who we are

Skill. Networking.Knowledge.

JUKTI is the club of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IUB: a place to explore technology, sharpen problem-solving, and gain practical experience beyond the classroom. It welcomes every CSE student, whether you’re writing your first program or already shipping projects.

Our alumni work in software engineering, data science, research, entrepreneurship and higher education, in Bangladesh and abroad, and many come back for seminars, guest sessions and mentoring.

  1. Skill

Technical and professional skills, built through hands-on work, for beginners and experienced students alike.

  2. Networking

Meaningful connections between students, alumni and industry professionals.

  3. Knowledge

A culture of continuous learning, where students learn from each other.

What we do

  • Workshops & training

Regular sessions that build technical and professional skills, from first steps to advanced topics.

  • Events & competitions

Academic and creative events that reward innovation, teamwork and problem-solving.

  • Community service

Social initiatives and volunteering that give back to the community.

  • Sports & recreation

Games and get-togethers that build friendships and a healthy student life.

যুক্তি → the mark

How the mark was made

Our logo isn’t just a shape. It’s our name, taken apart letter by letter and rebuilt in geometry. Scroll through the five steps, or hover any part to follow it from the word to the mark.

Step 1 / 5

  1. 01

    One word

The mark began as the word যুক্তি, “logic”, written by hand. Six of its features carry into the mark. Hover the letters A to F to find them.

  2. 02

    Taken apart

Each feature was lifted out of the word on its own: two curves, two triangular letter bodies, the loop of the conjunct, and the stem that holds the letters together.

  3. 03

    Reduced to geometry

The hand-drawn pieces were simplified into pure forms (arcs, triangles, a circle and a straight axis) and set on a grid, one of each. This is the master template.

  4. 04

    Mirrored and balanced

The template was mirrored around the central axis, which became the gap between the two halves. Equal heights (h) and fixed spacing (2m and 3m) keep every part in balance.

  5. 05

    The mark

Fused together, the geometry became the JUKTI mark: logic you can read in the word, and see in the shape.

  1. Kuakata

    01. An idea by the sea

On a departmental trip to Kuakata, Late Dr. Ali Shihab Sabbir Sir, then Dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science, imagined a place where CSE students could grow beyond the classroom.

  2. যুক্তি

    02. A name that means logic

He proposed the name “JUKTI”, meaning logic: a fundamental concept in computer science, and the way of thinking the club would stand for.

    03. The club is founded

JUKTI, the Club of Computer Science and Engineering at IUB, was established in 2014 under Founding Faculty Advisor Raihan Bin Rafique Sir and Founding President Rakib Hassan Rocky, around three guiding principles: skill, networking and knowledge.

    04. Learning by competing

On 4 July 2015, JUKTI and the Department of CSE ran the Intra-IUB Programming Contest: 24 teams from CSE and EEE, 13 problems, five hours. It capped a programming training camp that had started that March.

    05. Our first national stage

One of the club’s early milestones: organizing the NASA Space Apps Challenge at IUB in 2016, JUKTI’s first national-level event.

    06. Beyond the classroom

On 16 July 2026, JUKTI took 56 CSE students and two faculty members to Walton Digi-Tech Industries in Kaliakoir, Gazipur: through the display centre, the data centre and the circuit-board production line.

  7. Today

    07. The largest CSE community at IUB

JUKTI runs workshops, contests and events, community service and sports, and keeps a growing alumni network close: graduates in software, data science, research and business who come back to mentor the next batch.
